Finding a vendor

I don’t know if you know this, but our self-sustainability target used to be something along the lines of 30% of our nutritional needs being produced locally in 2030.

However, this target has recently been revised. Specifically, 20% of our fibre needs (e.g. leafy and fruity vegetables) will be produced locally by 2035.

This suggests that our department has to change the relevant signage. My colleague tried to contact the vendor for two days but to no avail. I actually went all the way to get a new vendor to design the new target statement, but out of consideration for ensuring that all information about Singapore’s food security is aligned in terms of font size and colour, I reached a quandary. I had to get in touch with the original vendor.

So, yesterday at 8pm, I tried my luck. To my surprise, the original vendor picked up my call.

And proceeded to make the change for me without seeking payment.

And then acted upon my feedback and made a minor change again — without asking for compensation.

This meant that I could nonchalantly forward the revised artwork to my colleagues in the WhatsApp group at 7am — confident, unfazed and reliable.

Goes to show that working after office hours sounds nauseous, but when done successfully, can actually trigger a good dose of endorphins to my soul.
