TIL from this book that toilet training is taken so seriously in America that some parents begin toilet training soon after their child’s first birthday.

Honestly, this feels a bit extreme. Some babies don’t even walk after their first birthday. Since this book was written some time ago, I reached out to an American friend on Stacker News to verify if this trend is true.
He enlightened me that this is the case. In fact, he started toilet training his children soon after they reached one. He has no fancy techniques to share. He just relied on good old persistence - bringing them to the bathroom every 30 mins and persuading them to have a go at it.
Here’s the thing that really shocked me and prompted me to blog. Schools in America have the right to reject children who have not been toilet trained at home.
Just WOW 😮
