As the curtain falls on today, I look back and think about the best lesson I have facilitated this year.

The tsunami passage becomes a catalyst for me to invite the Filipino student to give a first-hand account on the natural disasters in his country. Through his presentation, I have learnt how his countrymen stay sane amidst catastrophes. They go with the flow and laugh out loud at floods.

Three students take turns to read the passage while I sit beside a child to emphasise the words that may appear for Compre Cloze.

Five students then share about whether they would want to undertake a community service project in the Philippines. I am able to impress the importance of giving off main character energy upon them (and by extension, the class).

To cap it off, I pen my personal response to the community service question. Ending a lesson with my favourite leisure activity — writing.
