Our renovation is underway, and it’s time for us to choose the colours of our walls. We hence decided to visit the Benjamin Moore showroom at Thomson to get a feel of the colours. Some homeowners choose not to engage an interior designer (ID) and prefer to do everything themselves to prevent a bloodbath of their financial assets. However, I was quite thankful to have hired an interior designer because she came down with us to select the colours. Honestly, just looking at the Colour Studio was overwhelming. Benjamin Moore has a whooping 250 colours for customers to choose from! When our ID arrived, she immediately asked a question that made me feel that her consultation fee was worth it. She asked about the voltage of the lights used to illuminate the shop. Because of her question, the retail assistant then brought us to this simulated daylight area, in which we could better compare and contrast the colours. Benjamin Moore also employs other ways to ease the decision-making process. It prominently displays 2005’s trending colour, as well as the most popular colours. There’s a colour wall in which the most popular colours are enlarged so that you can better visualise how your apartment will look like. Last but not least, Benjamin Moore has various packages. It might be worth the while to fork out a bit more to purchase the ones that come equipped with anti-mould capabilities!
