It was a scorching morning. However, many children swarmed into the parade square, eager to get some exercise. They did not mind the heat. Broad grins stretched across their faces.
No one noticed that the back gate was open. Out of the corner of her eye, Ashley noticed a stray dog entering through the gate. It waggled its tail threateningly. Fear gripped Ashley. Her heart pounded wildly like an African drum. She immediately warned her friends to stay away, swatting the air as if to chase the dog away.
Suddenly, the dog barked ferociously and chased after Ashley and her friends. They ran in all directions, yelling for help. Their screams pierced through the air. Ashley wished that someone would save them. Maybe the operations manager could extract a net from the storage room and trap the dog with it.
