Fantom Network is all the rage nowadays, interesting platforms, many degen DeFi strategies and even some drama. by the way Fantom's TVL is rocking as well.
If you are playing around with the platform with small amounts, even if Fantom gas fees are low it can be disturbing. In case some strategies needs manually daily compounding, and it's not fun paying 5 cents to compound your 20 cents 😒. Why Fantom has high gas fees? Because it's getting popular...
If you become regular you will notice gas fees spikes to 900 GWEI around certain times, and Metamask is not that helping. But hold your horses if you are not in a hurry... before your daily compounding take a look at the FTMscan:
As you got more experienced, you would notice certain time frames is not great for using the network, around UTC 08.00 - 10.00 (early in morning, AM 👻) or night time are usually great for your daily Fantom activities.
You can edit your Metamask's suggested gas fees which is usually on the "fast" side, according to FTM Gas Tracker.
Image below already has good gas fees, so I wouldn't edit any further.
