After the earthquakes on 6 February, I thank my stars that Cyprus only suffered minimal after-quakes. The intensity of the quakes in Eastern Turkey were 7.6 and 7.7 magnitude. These were followed by a 6.6 and further smaller quakes. I do not own a television (too negative) and have just been watching the live feeds at a neighbour's place. Yesterday's death toll was above 16,000 and 6,500 apartment blocks had been bought to the ground. Injuries total way over 16,500 people. I don't wish to look at any more statistics about this. It's bad enough that the energy around here is so negative and sad. I think of just the positive news I saw - an 80-year old man being rescued after 80 hours under rubble, truly a miracle.
