Afternoon all,
Thought it was about time that I posted an update / resolution to my previous post, on the 'please just wait' (while we piss about with your finances) saga I was going through with Wirex.
very brief summary, if you don't fancy reading through the previous post.. A simple transaction, transfer of Eth from one wallet to another, was initiated on Wirex and showed as pending... that was pretty much it for over two days. To make things even more interesting, the funds involved were all my available funds, being shifted to various wallets, exchanges, etc.
Following on from the last messages, pasted in the previous post, the frustration just continued. I reached out on every social media platform that Wirex had a presence on, and each one offered reassurance, but directed my query to the customer service team.. and I was already having such an enjoyable time going down that route.
I then reached out publicly on LinkedIn to some of the senior members of Wirex, my thinking being that while they praise themselves for 'a job well done', they will want to react to a polite but concerning post showing on their public feed. Result: Mostly ignored, the one individual that did reply.. you guessed it, right? Directed me to customer support.
What followed was a blitz of posts on the Wirex community forum, live chat and any email address I could find.. eventually I managed to find out the cause of the issue. I would say the root cause, but that would require the company to care about providing adequate information to their customers on issues, and measures put in place to avoid repetition of these issues.. they do not care, that much is evident.
I found out that the issue was with 'a third party' and was being worked on. Can I get a time-frame of how long the third party would take to resolve this, and allow me access to my funds?.. Can I f**k?!
'Apparently' they did not know the time to resolve the issue, not even an estimate and it would seem had no experience of similar issues (the Wirex forum would indicate this is untrue).

And that was that.. Around 6 hours after this email exchange was through, the Ethereum appeared in the receiving wallet, although the Wirex wallet was still showing as pending.
It's now approaching two weeks since the incident, and I received an email in the last couple of days stating that Wirex support are not able to provide a time until my issue is resolved (on the ball as usual!) and my Wirex account still shows that the transaction is pending and has yet to hit the blockchain... and something tells me it always will..
After going through this, I thought that I would write some reviews of the various apps, exchanges, wallets, and cryptocurrency cards I use (or have used - in the case of Wirex). There is an ever increasing choice out there, and with my inquisitive nature, I've signed up and used most of them. So, next couple of days, I start to share my thought.. hopefully someone, somewhere, sometime, will find the reviews useful..
