Apparently the attack also appears to have affected Apple, Uber, Barack Obama, Mike Bloomberg and Jeff Bezos, but the posts would have been removed.

It appears that the attackers wanted to highlight Bitcoin's privacy issues by advertising Monero. However, it is incredible that people still believe in the "Bitcoin Doublers" and fall victim to these scams.
