Airdrops are one of the best ways to earn capital to start your crypto journey. With the most recent example — the $ARB airdrop — airdropping it’s users with $ARB tokens worth from $1000 to $12000 USD in value. That could be life changing money for some of us!
That’s why airdrops are usually recommended to beginners in the crypto space to start making money. Crypto projects (or Web3 projects) will reward you with their tokens as a show of gratitude for contributing and being loyal to their project!
So, im sharing you this opportunity to start your very own crypto journey.
Yesterday, on the 30th March, The Sui Foundation announced their permanent testnet over on their Twitter @SuiNetwork. The permanent testnet is different from their previous devnets. The permanent testnet will not be restarted, and it will keep on running even after the mainnet launch.
The Sui Foundation has also hinted to a possible airdrop. As what was written in their blog about SUI token allocation,
“the Sui Foundation will make the rewarding and distribution of SUI tokens to Sui’s early community members a topmost priority.”
So how would you position yourself to be elligible for an upcoming airdrop? This guide exists just for that!
1) Download the Sui Wallet Extension
First thing we need is a wallet. using a chromium based browser, open the Sui Wallet page and add the extension.
If you already have the extension, go to chrome://extensions/ and update your wallet extension.
2) Make a Wallet
Now you need to make your own wallet! After downloading the extension, open it up and follow the instructions to make a new wallet. Remember, do NOT share your seed phrase to anyone!
3) Change Network to Testnet
After you’re done making your wallet, now we need to change the network to Sui testnet. Click the 3 bars on the top right of your wallet, then click network, then select Sui Testnet.
4) Request Testnet Tokens on Discord
Now we need Tokens to actually start testing. First join their discord at https://discord.com/invite/sui
And after verifying yourself in their discord server, go to the testnet-faucet channel and type in “ !faucet (your wallet address) “
Your wallet address should be at the top, just click that to copy it.
5) Stake SUI
Now after we get our faucet tokens, we need to stake it to increase our chances of eligibility.
Click the “Stake & Earn SUI” button
Select any Validator, then click the “Select Amount” button on the bottom
Enter any amount. Note that you need to stake at least 1 SUI, and not any less.
If your transaction fails, you can wait and request faucet tokens again in discord, or ask another person to send you some SUI tokens for your transaction.
And that’s it! For now… After projects start developing on testnet, we need to interact with those too! And maybe, not only do we increase our chances of an airdrop from The Sui Foundation, but also the project we’re going to be interacting with!
