The two favorites nations bring home the gold medal in the teams relays at the Biathlon World Championships 2020 in Antholz, that will end in a few hours with the mass start races.
Marte Olsbu Røiseland closed the women's relays with a perfect shooting after reaching the last stand shoot tied with Hanna Oeberg, but the swedish star had to do a penalty run and lost the medal for he country.
After a great comeback Germany won the silver while Ukraine got the bronze medal.
The first part of the race was dominated by Italy (with Vittozzi and Wierer in the first 2 legs) and later by Poland, that started the last leg with over 40 seconds advantage over Norway, but it wasn't enough to win a medal for both teams.
Less surprises in the men's competition, where France (who hasn't won a World Championships relays since 2001) took the lead right away together with Germany, while Norway had troubles in the first leg and lost ground immediately.
All square until the last stand shoot, when Fillon Maillet went fast and precise, while Doll missed a lot for Germany and after doing the penalty loop found Johannes Boe on his tail; Boe quickly got back on Doll and won the silver medal for Norway, while Germany had to settle for the bronze.
This was the first gold medal for Martin Fourcade in the team relay and his 13th gold in the World Championships history.
