Hi there y'all. It might seem a bit off-puting, writing something named like this, so if you are some of a conservative type you might skip reading this article and go back to your daily routine of, I don't know, doing your 9-17 job instead of procrastinating here. But if you're interested in what I am about to describe here, then go on and immerse yourself in this lecture.
But before I go further, I want to point that this article is probably most useful for people struggling with addictions, like myself. I really hope somebody will get something positive from reading this.
I know the whole conception of a word "drug" has a pejorative meaning, but why is that? Why some substances are called drugs, and other are not? Answer, as always, is very simple and direct. It is all about money baby. For example, here is link to a video about origins of marijuana prohibition.
Some other drugs, like LSD, were banned just because it wasn't a good time in '70 for US government to have a whole uprising of hippies who did not want a war in Vietnam. I won't get into details about it here, but if you are interested, I recommend you to read about it. Still, I am not saying that it SHOULD be legal, because it can mess with a brain in some hard way, but at least it should be decriminalised or used in therapy.
Why am I saying it could be used in therapy? Simply because it changes perspective of seeing things. Recent studies shows that it can be useful when it comes curing PTSD or depression (e.g. https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03866252). I am not expert on the subject, but from my personal expirience I can tell, that it helped me go through my complexes and showed me that every human being on this world is just as beautiful as one can be. No matter how ugly they might have appear, or what things they have done, in the end, all of us might be one and the same person after all. The egg, if I may say so.
The whole subject of psychedellics is a material for a different article, which I am about to write some other time, but in this short text, I just want to point the biggest opportunities psychoactive substances may give.
Every stimulant can be benefitial while working - e.g. You have to do 24 hour work shift - I have been there, coffee is just not enough, if work is hard. Maybe if somebody has to use substances like amphetamines or coke, maybe it would be better if they were used for some kind of work, where one could find something that will drive him off the substance, instead of wasting time playing games, partying for a few days in a row or writing meaningless articles?
It is 4AM while I am writing this article. I'm a bit tired and, of course, high. Summing up those scribbles, the key to useful taking drugs is to do something with yourself while on it. If one is addicted, it doesn't mean he has to live like movies love to show junkies. Everything comes to a change of perspective, and accepting that yourself and fact, that addiction is not an obstacle not to pass by.
And if it is, you could always clean up your room. Parents will be proud of you.
In the end, I want to leave you with one more movie - maybe someone who is not addicted will change their look at people struggling with addiction problem.
Have a great life y'all.
Yours forever, sph1nx.
