A Multi-Layer Secure Identification and Usage Tracking System

By Joe Bou Khalil | Cybersecurity ideas | 15 Jun 2026

Security is becoming a normal feature of our lives, with every day a new type of technology coming out.

We should all work for better security for our phones, laptops, bank accounts, and, most importantly, our identities.

What is this idea?

The idea I've been working on is the system for cards or vouchers. It could be used for your security and the businesses also.

What is it?

The business makes a bunch of cards, like, say, one hundred. Raised printing (intaglio) to make it legit. But what's most important is that each one has a different bar code. And the barcodes are entered on the system. So the person will know how many he has and how many he used.

What's next?

  • When a person is going to be given a card.
  • The barcode is scanned from the card. And the name of the person is entered on the system. Making the card his.

How it identifies the person

  • So when the barcode is scanned, it shows the name to identify the person.
  • An id card is needed to verify the person when used.
  • And to keep it with him for multiple times, you punch a hole in the card. And when all holes are punched, it's done.

More security features

  • Each time the cards are printed, new barcodes are used.
  • And each one is different: 20 cards, 20 different barcodes.
  • Expiration date: 2 months to 1 year after activation.

But who can use it?

  • Event passes
  • Food vouchers
  • Library cards
  • Public transportation tickets
  • Temporary access permits
  • Training or certification cards

Conclusion

So this idea is a security system that I think could work. And improve the security for small businesses. I hope you came up with your own security system. And I am sure it will be even better.
