Hello, friends and movie lovers in all its formats. It’s been a while since I left any film recommendations, so today, instead of one, I bring you three short films that I know you’ll enjoy. As always, all of them are available on YouTube, and I'll include the link so you can find them easily.

Short films or "shorts" are brief movies that can range from less than a minute to 30 minutes in duration. They are characterized by encapsulating a story and narrative in a short amount of time without affecting the narrative or its complexity. Perhaps the strength of short films is their ability to impact the viewer and generate emotions and feelings in such a brief time. This format also offers a lot of flexibility, with themes and the choice of medium being open and decisive to the creators. But without further ado, let's get to today's list:

1. The Disappearance of Willie Bingham

   Imagine that justice allows a part of a criminal’s body to be removed as revenge for the victim, until nothing is left of the criminal. Progressive and selective amputation is the central theme of this horror/thriller short film, which focuses on Willie Bingham, the first man to undergo this radical justice program. In just 15 minutes, it tackles complex themes such as legal procedures and the limits of human morality.

1. Man on a Train

   We continue with horror as the main theme, but this time the story focuses more on exploring the human psyche through introspection, narrating the terrifying encounter between a young woman and a stranger. The mystery delves into common human themes such as anxiety, depression, and vulnerability in unknown situations. The haunting and somewhat suffocating atmosphere stands out. A film that evokes unease through its atmosphere of dark but common places that, despite being public, feel liminal and isolated. The pacing, which makes our anxiety increase, will keep us on the edge of our seats the whole time.

1. Don't Look Away

   What would happen if one day your tranquility is broken by someone watching you from your backyard? Worried, you call your father, and he tells you not to take your eyes off the intruder. A short film that tackles themes such as the dehumanization of people. The tension increases between the protagonists who are stalked by the mystery. The nature of this entity is relegated to a secondary plane, and the main focus is on the constant tension and uncertainty, leaving us only a hint of some kind of family curse.
