(from the series: 60 Days in Green, Before and After the Storm)
Introduction
In the previous article ( Article 1: “Forget ROI… The Curve Is the Mirror” ), we talked about mindset. But mindset without technique is just toxic positivism.
Today, I’ll show how I adjusted my trading so that every position contributed to a smooth, upward capital curve — even after a loss on day 20 that reminded me risk is always present.
The result: a maximum drawdown of 2% in 60 days, with a fast and trauma‑free recovery.

From Rigidity to Adaptability
Before, I used a fixed risk ratio (1:3) on all trades.
The problem:
-
I forced trades to fit the ratio.
-
I ignored the market’s real volatility.
Now I apply contextual risk management:
-
Volatile markets (e.g., Bitcoin): reduced exposure, wider stops.
-
Calm markets (e.g., EURUSD): normal exposure, tighter stops.
The Formula I Use to Calculate Exposure
Maximum exposure in $ = (Capital × Risk %) / (% potential loss)
Example with BTC ($60,000):
-
Capital: $1000 | Risk: 2% ($20) | Stop Loss: ‑5% ($57,000)
-
Maximum exposure = $20 / 0.05 = $400
-
Amount of BTC: $400 / $60,000 = 0.00666 BTC

Volatility Filter
If volatility exceeds 20% of the average (e.g., during news events), I cut my exposure in half:
-
New exposure: $200 → 0.00333 BTC
-
Result: if BTC drops ‑5%, I only lose $10 (1% of my capital).
High‑Probability Signals I Look For
-
Buy below the open, sell above the open.
-
Buy below previous lows, sell above previous highs.
-
Buy below the 50% Fibonacci, sell above the 50% Fibonacci.
How I Avoid Toxic Trades
-
I don’t trade during major news (I wait 30 minutes after the release).
-
If the spread widens, I cancel the trade.
-
If I hesitate more than 20 seconds before entering, I don’t enter.
The Key Role of Auditability
I use real‑time verification platforms (Bitunix: https://shre.ink/CopyTradingBUSCADOR3S-CubanCrypt ) because:
-
They force consistency (everything is recorded).
-
They attract serious investors (transparency = trust).
Conclusion

Technique without mindset is blind, but mindset without technique is naive.
Adapting my risk management to market context was the key to reducing my drawdown to just 2% and recovering quickly after the loss on day 20.
