Another different post today, we'll be diving into what I believe to be the best works of writer Nick Antosca. With a career that spans from 2012 all the way until today, Nick has writing credits on TV and in Film, but for this list, we'll be combining the two. Here are the top 4 works of Nick Antosca that I've seen..

1. Candy (Hulu TV Series) - Starring Jessica Biel, Candy is about the 1980 murder of Betty Gore, and Jessica Biel plays the murderer, Candy Montgomery. This series tells the haunting jealousy from one woman to another, but also how a bad husband and lack of connection can make someone crave that attention. If you watch this with someone, you'll definitely have some conversations around whether the killings were deserved, whether the certain choices made by Candy was justified, however, what you'll ultimately get from this TV series is a great story with a great cast. This is a one-off series on Hulu so no 2nd season, but it isn't necessary for a story like this.

2. The Act (Hulu TV Series) - The story of the infamous Gypsy Rose Blanchard, starring Joey King and Patricia Arquette. This story is crazy, but it also makes you feel for Gypsy Rose. Joey King does a great job at playing the role of a grown woman, but also playing the role of a little girl, which is sometimes what she is when engaging with her mother. When you look at the entirety of this story, it's hard not to feel bad for Gypsy Rose. However, was murder the only option in this situation? This show will make you think for a while about whether this was actual murder, or was this self-defense. If you already know the story, then you know how it all played out. However, those new to this story might have a crisis of morals when finishing the series. This is a one-off series on Hulu just like the previous entry and it 1000% worth the watch.

3. The Forest - A supernatural horror film starring Natalie Dormer and Taylor Kinney, this film tells the story of a woman finding out that her sister was presumed to be dead after she entered a forest at the base of Mount Fuji that is known to be the site of many suicides. Natalie Dormer plays both twins and Sara, not the presumed dead sister (IDK how else to differentiate the two lol), is a great character who is stuck between hoping her sister is still alive, while also mourning the possibility of her sister really being dead. The movie is a bit slow paced, although gives a lot of backstory as to why the sister may be suicidal. Great twist at the end, but might leave the viewers wanting more, but still ultimately a good movie to watch. It's not free to stream anywhere yet, but you can rent it on AppleTV or Amazon Prime.

4. Brand New Cherry Flavor (Netflix TV Series) - Not only a writer/creator, but also a director on this show, Brand New Cherry Flavor is a hell of a ride full of magic, blood, the movie industry and, last but certainly not least, CATS! Starring Rosa Salazar and Catherine Keener, this show highlights the struggle of making it in Hollywood in the 90s and just how hard it can be for a young woman who's trying to make it in the business. She experiences some inappropriate advances from one producer, and she takes the route of revenge and magic to try and ruin his live, but also make sure her movie is made. To be honest, halfway through this show I was wondering if anything would make sense. There seemed to be so much all at once and it was hard to follow. However, as you make your way through this show, it all comes together. Is this show for everyone? No, definitely not. However, if you like weirdness, magic and shows about women getting revenge on creepy men, this show is for you. Salazar's performance as Lisa, the main character, is really well done, combining the naiveté of someone new in the film industry with the strength of a women scorner, it's a great parallel and the mixing of the two is done very well by Salazar.
