Hacker stole trader personal data from CryptoTrader.Tax

By PhoenixDev | CryptoWorld - CW | 25 Aug 2020

The CryptoTrader.Tax platform, a service that allows calculating and presenting taxes on cryptocurrency transactions, has been compromised when a hacker has stolen the information corresponding to the accounts of more than 1000 users of this platform (names, emails ... ).

Apparently this hacker, after stealing the information, has put it up for sale on the dark web.

According to David Kemmerer, Co-Founder and CEO of CryptoTrader.Tax, this access occurred on April 7 and was made on the customer service and marketing employee's account.

Once this fact was discovered, it was investigated by the CryptoTrader.Tax security team and the incident was communicated to the affected parties. In addition, appropriate measures were taken to avoid similar events in the future.
