So you have your seed phrase or wallet key written down, and you have put them away for safe keeping until you are ready to cash out on the next moonshot .
You have your Ledger, or Trezor loaded with your Hodl bags locked away in your safe and now you can sit back and wait for the day you become crypto rich.

Your exchange wallet doesn't have much crypto , so no worries there right? Even if the exchange gets hacked, You won't lose too much money so it's worth the risk, right? Wrong.
I'm here to tell you that if this is you, then you have made one major mistake! You have just overlooked one of the easiest ways for hackers, bad actors, or prying governments to get a hold of your personal data and account information, and it isn't through your crypto wallet.
Have you guessed where I'm going yet......?
Don't worry, if you haven't , I'm not going to string you along any further .
It is your Email account.

I am guilty of ignoring this glaring hole in my personal security , and I'm writing this blog post to make sure you don't make the same mistake.
Every email we send and receive can be monitored, or stolen by bad actors for all kinds of purposes. Some are as innocent as wanting to sell your data to advertisers , while some arent so innocent like phishing attacks to get at your bank account information and drain your funds before you know it.
Then you have government intrusion.
I won't be covering that here , but we all know how important it is to protect our communication nowadays.
No matter how strong you think your malware protection is, or how sophisticated your passwords are , there is always someone a little smarter than you out there .

The best way I have found to protect myself is by using Proton Mail.
They offer free end to end encryption, with the ability to upgrade for a monetary fee .
They also offer a free VPN service !
This post has already gone on long enough so I will leave all of the links in the Resource section below.
Everything you need will be located at the Proton Mail website, and I have also included the blog post I used for some of my research.
