The update is focusing much on the potential of Web3 technology to disrupt the status quo and overcome complex bureaucracy, poverty, and low banking access. To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Web3 technologies can aid in reducing and eliminating poverty, and empowering all classes.

ReFi projects in the Global South, such as Gluwa Capital, Njombe Innovation Academy, Web3Beach, Takataka Plastics, Pezesha, and EthicHub, aim to address critical needs, promote self-sufficiency, and empower local economies. These initiatives tackle issues like inflation, financial inclusion, regenerative agriculture, and waste management.

Language barriers limit Web3's reach in non-English speaking countries, highlighting the need for onboarding and content in multiple languages. Education is vital for introducing Web3 to the Global South, and the ReFi movement aims to create safe spaces for sharing and amplifying diverse voices. By recognizing the Global South's unique challenges, Web3 technologies can help build foundations of independence and foster global financial inclusion.
