I am often reading the newsletter via Switzerland-based DeFi company Mt.Pelerin. Here are some recent updates. 

MicroStrategy's former CEO, Michael Saylor, announced that his company email address had been converted into a Bitcoin Lightning address. Lightning technology is a scaling solution for Bitcoin, supporting fast and low-cost transactions. Saylor suggests that using Bitcoin and Lightning-based payment systems could help reduce reliance on significant corporations like Apple and Google.

Société Générale, a central French bank, has launched CoinVertible, a stablecoin pegged to the euro and targeted towards institutional clients. The stablecoin is intended to bridge the gap between traditional capital markets and digital assets and facilitate new solutions for corporate treasury, cash management, on-chain liquidity funding, and refinancing.

US-based exchange Kraken secured a virtual asset service provider (VASP) license in Ireland, following Gemini and Coinbase, who obtained their licenses last year. Kraken's Irish VASP license demonstrates the company's adherence to stringent anti-money laundering and compliance standards in Europe.

The European Parliament has approved the Markets and Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA), providing uniform rules and regulations for the crypto space in the EU. MiCA aims to enhance investor protection and minimize the impact of insolvencies. Provisions specific to stablecoins are expected to take effect in July 2024.

Binance has introduced an alert list presenting 191 high-risk projects deployed on BNB Chain, assisting users in conducting research and making informed investment decisions.
