Crypto News Roundup: Justin Sun's Apology, Bitcoin Price and NFT IP Infringements

By Vladan Lausevic | CryptoVlad | 2 May 2023

Hey crypto-people :)

I just read the recent CoinTelegraph newsletter today. Here is some latest info:

Justin Sun, the founder of TRON and CEO of BitTorrent, issued a public apology after a disagreement with Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) over the listing of SUI, the native token of his new decentralized social network. CZ expressed concerns about the token's launch, suggesting it did not meet Binance's listing standards. In response, Sun apologized for his team's shortcomings and promised to improve communication and cooperation with the Binance team.

The price of Bitcoin experienced a dip, threatening to break the $28,000 support level, as the mood surrounding the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting boosted the US dollar. The FOMC is expected to announce a potential timeline for tapering its asset purchases, which could impact the value of the US dollar and, in turn, influence Bitcoin's price.

Despite the recent pullback in Bitcoin's price, two indicators suggest that the $28,000 support level may hold. The first indicator, the Crypto Fear & Greed Index, shows that the market sentiment remains in the "fear" zone, which historically has been a buying opportunity. The second indicator, the Bitcoin stock-to-flow (S2F) model, demonstrates that Bitcoin's current price is closely tracking the model's predictions, suggesting that the long-term bullish trend may continue.

Following a recent trading frenzy, more cryptocurrency exchanges have listed PEPE, a meme-inspired cryptocurrency. PEPE has gained significant attention and trading volume due to its association with the popular internet meme Pepe the Frog. The surge in interest has prompted additional exchanges to support the trading of PEPE, further increasing its market exposure.

As non-fungible tokens (NFTs) continue to gain popularity, concerns about intellectual property (IP) infringements have also risen. To avoid potential legal issues, creators and buyers in the NFT space should consider the following strategies:

- Before creating or purchasing an NFT, research the origin of the underlying work to ensure that it does not infringe on someone else's IP rights.

- If an NFT incorporates copyrighted material, obtain the necessary licenses or permissions from the copyright holder.

- Create original works of art or content for NFTs to avoid potential infringement claims.

- When collaborating on NFT projects, ensure that all parties involved clearly understand their respective IP rights and responsibilities.
