Have you ever heard about Manna Base (coin) or Circles?
Several cryptocurrencies and connected communities already have a basic income system. This is promising since decentralization can be used for welfare and social support without usage or involvement of a government.
Circles, based in Berlin, Germany, is ETH driven and aims to create a decentralized basic income system where users can earn tokens through various activities, such as content creation, and use them to purchase goods and services. While for example, Ripple-based tokens such as Grantcoin aims to provide a basic income to individuals through a decentralized, blockchain-based system.
The main idea is that cryptocurrencies can fund basic income programs by regularly distributing a certain amount of the cryptocurrency to eligible individuals. This can be done through various methods, such as using smart contracts to automatically distribute funds to recipients' digital wallets, or through a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that manages the distribution of funds.
Another method is creating a "crypto dividend," where "hodlers" of a certain cryptocurrency are periodically given a small amount of the currency as a dividend. Also, some projects as Hedge for Humanity are working on providing a basic income to users through cryptocurrency mining or by incentivizing people to perform certain tasks using cryptocurrency
