I recently wrote about crypto legalization in the Central African Republic (CAR) and the differences and similarities compared to El Salvador.
The latest update is that the CAR government is creating a new committee for further crypto legalization and adaption. The new unit will have 15 experts from different public institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Water, Forests, Hunting and Fishing, the Ministry of Economy, and others.
In practice, it means that CAR could legalize another crypto as a national currency. As mentioned earlier, one of the CAR government's ambitions it to use crypto to attract investors and tokenize things such as natural resources. Thereby, CAR is focusing on going further than El Salvador regarding actions for and integrating crypto into society.
The development in CAR is interesting to follow because it is, at the moment, the only nation in Africa where the government legalizes crypto and where crypto is expected to become a more critical part of everyday life.
