An Honest Review of CryptoTab browser

CryptoTab browser is basically Google Chrome but mines BTC while you browse. I started using it in September 2020 and to date my total earnings are 0.001753303479 BTC. CryptoTab offers a paid Cloud.Boost feature to increase mining speeds which I’ve used a couple times. When I first started using it you could pay USD to activate the cloud boost features but those went away (on PC) around December 2020. Now you can pay BTC which I wasn’t super thrilled about.. I want to earn BTC not pay BTC to earn it.. The cloud.boost also has to be re-enabled every 3 hours so it had me in the habit of waking up in the middle of the night to reset it.

Cryptotab is available on PC, Android, and iPhone devices. On PC my speeds average around 3500 h/s assuming nothing else is running. I have an Amazon kindle tablet, at first mining speeds were around 600 h/s but the default has increased to around 1500h/s. On iPhone it ranges anywhere from 20h/s to 70h/s at best, so basically just a battery killer. However mining speeds on PC can also be monitored from your iPhone.

The Android tablet is also pretty slow but it wasn’t like I was really using it for anything else anyway. It’s also annoying on the tablet that mining has to be enabled every 2 hours by completing 3 captchas. The tablet screen also turns off every 30 minutes so that’s also kind of annoying. Before the captcha update I used to sleep with my tablet to keep it going, but now I don’t want to do 3 captchas on a screen with brightness turned all the way down while I’m half asleep so I don’t bother anymore.

In March I paid 0.000585 BTC for the 5x boost which put me at an average of 18000h/s. It took me around 2 and a half months to earn that back. The boost expired today with a total profit of 0.00016865 BTC minus the cost of the boost. However during April I was also playing RuneScape for their double xp event which cut mining speeds in half when running.

Another thing I’ve noticed is mining speeds are slightly faster if you leave it on a different webpage besides the CryptoTab dashboard. As an anime fan I tend to leave the Boruto or Attack on Titan pages of  Crunchyroll open.

Overall CryptoTab is a cool browser to earn BTC but the profits aren’t that much and the boosts aren’t exactly worth it. I still leave it running on my computer and tablet but my electric bills are also quite high where I live so it’s not exactly profitable.. While I haven’t experienced this myself I’ve seen social media comments with issues about withdrawal requests taking a while. For me it’s always been within 1-3 business days though.

If you’d like to earn some BTC while you’re browsing the web anyway I’d still recommend CryptoTab, just don’t expect to become a millionaire overnight. I’m doing this more for long term profit because I believe while those profits may not be worth much, I do expect BTC price to increase in the coming years and be worth more down the road.

Feel free to give it a try and you can always uninstall if you don’t like it https://cryptotabbrowser.com/15765722
