What exactly is Presearch?
It's an open, decentralized search engine platform built by the community for the community. They reward members with PRE tokens for usage, contribution and promotion of the platform. The vision for Presearch is to have a community-owned place where the Google search box that usually occupies ones browser is instead a Presearch box which caters to multiple engines. Choice is important and there needs to be a place that welcomes different search providers and rewards search results. Right now it's up to big tech companies like Google to determine the search results we should see but Presearch really wants to make the narrative more about getting internet users to discover a more democratized search where results are community-curated.
So let's look at why you should consider using Presearch over your current search engine...

Decentralized Search
Right now the experience with the market leader Google is a very centralized experience from both the user and creator/producer standpoint. Presearch tries to bring a multi-pronged approach to this by being open and transparent but where people have ground rules that they participate in. The goal is to be a fully decentralized search engine where users are actually "crawling the web" and being able to have a framework where everyone in the ecosystem can be rewarded.
Presearch Keyword Staking
Keyword staking is a term thats used for allocating PRE tokens to a specific word. It allows advertisers to bid on keywords using PRE tokens and if you stake the most tokens to a given keyword that ad will show up when someone conducts a Presearch for that term. If you stake tokens you maintain ownership of the PRE tokens while staked but if you unstake them or if someone stakes more than you have, your ad will no longer be shown in the search results.
Community Package
They have open source community packages so anybody can submit a package and therefore when certain keywords get triggered it basically shows up with results at the top of the search. An example of one of these community packages can be seen by conducting a Presearch for any of your favourite tokens such as “Ethereum” which then returns a search result with a block of curated info.
Presearch Nodes
Presearch nodes offer the ability for anyone to join the network. They can be installed on your computer or server to help power the new decentralized search engine. Running a node allows operators of that node to help provide search results for information needed to answer users search queries. In exchange for providing computer resources to the network you are staking PRE tokens and also earning PRE rewards to offset your own cost and encourage others to join the network and provide a positive experience for all users.
PRE Tokens
Users can get rewarded with PRE tokens which is the browsers cryptocurrency that incentivizes searchers to use Presearch over other search engines. When conducting searches you are rewarded with a certain amount of PRE tokens for each search. The amount you receive will be a variable-rate, based on system-wide inputs such as number of searches, advertising revenue, node operator rewards and other factors. These rates are then adjusted each day on an on going basis but really getting rewarded like this is just an added bonus for a more decentralized search engine experience.
Hopefully that gives you a little more detail into some of the benefits that differentiate Presearch from other search engines. So signup and start enjoying a more democratized and decentralized search experience that benefits you with PRE tokens so you too can become part of the community.

I've been using Presearch for a while now and it's been comforting knowing that I have an alternative to big tech options like Google. It's also very rewarding to see that your searches are generating an extra bonus of getting PRE tokens and the recent update of dark mode is very welcome. The opportunity to enter #SearchWithPresearch was a great excuse to read more details and be able to share my findings!
