[With Screenshots] 7 reasons why we should use #TallyHo Wallet

1. Tally Ho is a Web 3 wallet that has grand ambitions to surpass MetaMask. The first thing on my mind was, given that many users lose their hard-earned money to phishing scams on MetaMask, how does the Tally Ho developers plan its security measures. Being action-oriented, I asked this question on the Discord channel and was pleased to receive an answer promptly. A mod replied that firstly, it is not possible for scammers to copy users’ seed phrases on Tally Ho. Secondly, Tally Ho disables the function of encrypting input fields so that unscrupulous scammers will not obtain our personal details so easily. I provided a screenshot of this mod’s reply below.

2. To give us peace of mind, Tally Ho underwent a security audit by Least Authority, a security consulting firm founded by the founder of Zcash. Least Authority verified Tally Ho’s processes and did not identify any critical security Vulnerabilities. (https://blog.tally.cash/least-authority-keyring-audit-gives-tally-ho-high-marks/amp/) Phew!

3. Tally Ho is easy to use because it employs hardcoded token lists. This means that when you add a cryptocurrency as a custom asset, you will be able to access links to EtherScan that will help you verify its authenticity. Any feature that streamlines processes and saves me time is top marks in my book.

4. Tally Ho gives power to its users as it is structured as a Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO). This means that your opinions and insights will be taken into consideration in the form of proposals and governance polls. Your voice will be heard and magnified as you work together with like-minded people to improve Tally Ho. Here’s an example of a proposal: https://gov.tally.cash/t/tally-ho-dao-structure-proposal/455

5. While it’s heartening that Tally Ho is powered by its users, you may be curious to find out whether it boasts a vibrant and dynamic community. Well, I received a reply from its Twitter mod barely 15 minutes after I posted my tweet.

Checking out its Discord channel yielded the same result. There were not only subgroups that were categorised according to languages like Japanese, but also subgroups in which users VOLUNTEERED to come up with innovative features for Tally Ho. The glue binding a Web 3 wallet is its community, and it seems that many users are putting themselves out there to get involved in one way or another.

6. Tally Ho is cheaper than its competitors. MetaMask charges 1% for its swap fees but Tally Ho charges only 0.5%. What’s more, we can swap tokens on a third party site without leaving the Tally Ho wallet due to the availability of a feature called Tally Ho Swaps. It’s only when we need to use a dAPP for swapping purposes that we have to connect our Tally Ho wallet.

7. The first rule of crypto is “not your keys, not your coins”. With scandals rocking crypto firms, you are likely to want to leave your crypto in cold storage for the long term. Tally Ho understands your need to safeguard your wealth and provides full support for Ledger. So, you don’t have to stress yourself out when it comes to transferring your assets from a wallet to cold storage.

In all, Tally Ho is safe, user-friendly and dynamic. It’s nurtured by a group of active and passionate developers and volunteers. It’s available on all good browsers: Chrome, Firefox and Brave. So be sure to give it a try: https://tally.cash
