No one doubts the intelligence of Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance. He singlehandedly exposed SBF’s deceptive ways with a tweet, thus playing a huge role in the collapse of FTX. He is not adverse to making controversial statements on Twitter. Take the instance of him declaring that 99% of investors will lose their assets if they undertake the self-custody option with hardware wallets. (As opposed to our favourite Kraken CEO who actively advises everyone to get their coins off exchanges.) A couple of months ago, he took offence at Jesse Powell’s use of the word “offshore” to blame US regulators for neglecting crypto-related issues offshore. CZ opined that there was no need to distinguish between “onshore” and “offshore”, thus accusing Powell of having a holier-than-thou attitude.
Does his provocative remarks affect your impression of him and by extension, the frequency of you using Binance?
