My colleagues always appear stunned when I share that I walk at least 15 minutes from my workplace to the nearest metro station. But it’s really no sweat for me because I like walking. Somehow, I don’t really share that I’m firmly entrenched in the National Steps challenge. Which is a nationwide initiative by my government to disburse supermarket vouchers if we clock the recommended number of steps every day. Shrewd strategic move to keep us all fit and healthy in a bid to reduce healthcare costs when we become old and frail in the (near) future.
I almost never share that I’m walking for crypto as well. Besides sMiles (which pays me a maximum of 21 sats on my most physically exerting days), I have also been using the Sweatcoin app (https://sweatco.in/i/hengkaile) with a pinch of salt. Apparently, this app has been around for quite some time. The next step of the roadmap involves the launch of its very own crypto called SWEAT sometime in September. Well, I didn’t get my hopes up. Will it really deliver what it pledged to do? Even if the SWEAT crypto were released, how viable would it be? Would there be exchanges that facilitate the conversion to a less obscure crypto? Would I have to clock an astronomical number of steps every day before I even qualify for the conversion? Which blockchain will SWEAT be on - and how much gas fees are needed?

There are many unknown variables in this murky future - but this much is clear today. Sweatcoin launched its Sweat Wallet and placed a countdown timer on its app. Barring any nasty surprises, it will launch the SWEAT crypto come 13 September 2022! There’s something for me to look forward to. Free money is free money. It’s ain’t much but it’s honest work.

Hopefully, all turns out well and I will be able to swap SWEAT for Bitcoin next week.
