Got Roasted on R/Cryptocurrency

By cryotosensei | CryptoSensei | 12 Apr 2022

So what happened?

I reached my 500 comment karma and 60-day membership requirement on r/cryptocurrency. Which qualified to me to make a post.

So what would you do if you had to post something for the first time on a public forum? I thought I would write about the impetus that led me to dabble in crypto. After all, this kind of introspective self-introductory post would be quite well-received on Publish0x. I would gain a decent amount of tips and maybe even a kind comment or two.

So excuse me when I express how horrified I was when I received feedback. I freely admit that I had to pause and ponder before I caught the sarcasm some of these comments were delivering.

Ouch.

I received quite a number of downvotes for my maiden post.

But it’s okay! No need to comfort me! I’m a big boy and can handle criticism. It just made me realise how incredibly accommodating Publish0x-ers are! I have received critical comments sometimes but never have I received mean ones. So thank you, guys, for being so kind!

Which makes me want to end with the moral of the story:

Never refer to any crypto exchange on r/cryptocurrency. People assume you are trying to shill its service and make their displeasure known.

Thanks for reading as always!
