About Awkward Astronauts

It seems that every aspiring crypto exchange will comprise an NFT arm  so that it broadens its ecosystem and allows its users to buy, sell and mint NFTs these days. Gemini is one prime example and it recently launched a series of 10,000 NFTs in a giveaway contest for its US-based clients. Go on, you can go and read about it here.

Although I was not eligible for the sweepstakes, I get to live vicariously through my mate as he WON one of these NFTs. He was certainly ecstatic about winning it, which attested to the creative brains of the Gemini team. Now at least 10,000 users would have a Nifty Gateway account. What a way to excite people about its NFT marketplace, huh?

Of course, Gemini’s NFTs giveaway would not have been an instant hit if its NFTs looked dull and uninspiring. Gemini was shrewd enough to come up with an Awkward Astronauts theme, something that intrigues the mind. We normally think of astronauts as the best specimens of mankind. It takes a lot for one to make it as ab astronaut, so we think of him or her as physically fit, mentally sharp abd emotionally sound. But what happens if these astronauts feel like fishes out of water? Struck by the imposter syndrome? Then they grapple with their insecurities and look awkward - just like you and me.

What a cool way to make its clients resonate with the art pieces. The attractive colours and distinctive poses don’t hurt either. Here’s a screenshot that my mate sent to the group:

As you can see from the prices indicated, these Awkward Astronauts garnered strong buyer interest and are now trading like hot cakes. I certainly hope that this success will motivate Gemini to come up with another series for its international clients!
