Magnificent Monday Learning
11 things I learnt from r/ethtrading
- Here are two awesome sites to check for gwei: https://ultrasound.money/ & https://etherscan.io/gastracker
- The website, marketcapof, reveals the market cap of one coin compared to another one. So does the website thecoinperspective.com.
- ETH is divisible up to 18 decimal places. 1 Ether = 10^18 Wei. On the other hand, ethereum gas is measured in Gwei (1 ether= 10^9 Gwei)
- Other than Orbiter Bridge, there are other bridges like Umbria Bridge, Bungee, Jumper and LayerSwap.
- Other than Uniswap, there are similar DEXes like Odos Protocol or Slingshot Exchange. Since Uniswap had an airdrop in 2020, you could try these DEXes instead in hopes of getting an airdrop. Not financial advice.
- The Ethereum upgrades are named after actual cities. Take for instance the Shanghai upgrade that took place in April 2023 because Shanghai was the city-host of the Devcon 2 conference.
- Did you know that “Ether” came about because Vitalik Buterin was inspired by a science book he had read as a child. In the 19th century, scientists used to believe that ether was a weightless and transparent material that filled space and carried all light waves. This concept has been disproven since then.
- Some investors take note of the Fear and Greed index and accumulate more crypto when it is 30-40.
- The Merge happened on September 15, 2022. Since then, 980,000 ETH has been burned, 11.6 million ETH has been staked and there are 362,000 new validators.
- An ELI5 guide to the following platforms (Orbiter Finance: bridge, ZkSync: ZK rollup, Starknet: ZK rollup competitor, LayerZero: omnichain, Scroll: ZK rollup, Venom: Layer 1)
- Bridge airdrops are usually small and amount to $500 max.
