Why Can a Link From a Brave Ad Open my Metamask and Binance Wallet?

By Cryptopsycho21 | Cryptopsycho21 | 22 Apr 2022

I like using Brave.  It's secure and fast.  The rewards are nice too.  However, recently there has been an ad opportunity that does something new.  Usually, when we click on a Brave ad, it opens in a new tab.  This one is no different.  Unlike the others, this one will also open the app to my Metamask wallet and Binance Wallet.  This action is going a little further than I feel an ad should.  Below is a screenshot of the ad, and on the bottom, you can see both of the previously mentioned wallets opening or open.  These are the only wallets that I have on my browser.  So, if you have different ones, would they also open?  Pop-ups are annoying enough.  This goes beyond that.

Now one of my questions is, "Should an 'advertisement' be able to open said wallet apps?"  Personally, I think it's a little too personal.  My wallets have passwords, so I'm not concerned about someone accidentally giving access to them.

The second item for discussion is, "Should Brave warn customers that clicking will open all compatible online wallets?" Initially, I wasn't sure who to be disappointed with.  I'm sure that Brave has rules for ads.  Unfortunately, I do not know these rules.  Also, I feel that Xworld Games should be aware that this is a little annoying.

I would like to know what you think about this.  Am I being paranoid or do I have a legitimate concern? Sorry, this item is a little shorter than the others.  However, I feel this is an important issue for conversation.
