Polkadot to Conduct First-Ever WASM Conference

by: Gideon 6ix

Polkadot is conducting the first ever WebAssembly Matters (WASM) Conference on May 31, 2022, hosted by Supercolony. It is a one-day Virtual Event that will "bring top parachains, prospects, and builders together to create the future of Polkadot." The conference will focus on smart-contract development on the Polkadot network. This conference is an opportunity for developers to learn about Polkadot and how they can build on it.

Polkadot is a decentralized network of independent blockchains, each of which can have its own rules and governance. Polkadot was created by Gavin Wood, the former CTO of Ethereum. Polkadot serves as a Web 3.0 platform that will allow different blockchains to interoperate. Polkadot is supported by major crypto investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Polychain Capital, and Parity Technologies.

WebAssembly is a new type of code that may run in web browsers. It is fast, efficient, and portable. WebAssembly is based on a variety of existing technologies, including JavaScript and WebGL. PolkaDot uses WebAssembly as its base layer. PolkaDot programs can run in any browser that supports WebAssembly. In addition, PolkaDot programs can be compiled into WebAssembly code, making them more portable and efficient. As a result, PolkaDot provides an alternative to JavaScript for web development.

Smart contracts have been an area of intense interest and research in the blockchain community for some time now. While Ethereum has implemented smart contracts on its platform, several issues remain unsolved. The biggest issue is the expense, and the second is speed. The key benefit of Polkadot is that it allows for multiple blockchains to interoperate with each other, so they operate parallel, which greatly improves the efficiency of the system. As a result, Polkadot has the potential to become the go-to platform for smart contracts.

Whether you plan to "visit" the conference as an attendee or a speaker, this is a significant moment in Polkadot history. I highly suggest those interested in Polkadot, Web 3.0, and WebAssembly to make time to attend.
