TOP 5 Coins And Tokens In My Portfolio - This Is What I HODL 😎

It happens more and more often that I am being asked which currencies I have in my personal portfolio. For this reason, I decided to write this post. I think that's smart, because the next time someone asks me about my portfolio, I can just refer to this post. So here we are, this is what I hodl. 😎

No. 5 Chainlink (LINK)

The first token that has found its way in my personal Top 5 from what I hodl is ChainLink (LINK). ChainLink is a company that acts as an intermediary between blockchain smart contracts and traditional non-blockchain applications such as website APIs, databases and payment processing systems. The company is the interface between blockchain and classic payment systems such as SWIFT, Visa, Mastercard or PayPal. The node operators extract data from off-chain systems and convert them into blockchain-compatible formats. ChainLink's native token is an ERC20 token called LINK. It is used to pay the node operator.

The most important reason for LINK being a top token is my personal portfolio is that LINK is filling a gap, the gap between off-chain systems and on-chain systems. Not many ERC20 tokens are having such an important function.

No. 4 Tezos (XTZ)

Tezos has been one of the best performers in terms of price action last year and XTZ still is a good choice.

Tezos is a multi-purpose blockchain with an evolving and amenable on-chain governance. Tezos staking is called baking and it the first proof of stake cryptocurrency that is supported by all major exchanges, including Coinbase and Binance.

Basically, if you hold your XTZ coins in Coinbase Wallet, Coinbase will do the rest for you (run a validator node and stake your coins for you, while giving you the reward minus their fees for the service). Binance or Ledger Hardware Wallet is even better for this since they charge no fees for the staking service. Staking XTZ is really easy, anyone can do it.

XTZ is a must presence on my personal portfolio and my personal staking repertoire! I am still building up my Tezos portfolio and it is highly possible that Tezos is going to replace Ethereum on my personal rank number three.

No. 3 Ethereum (ETH)

Ethereum (ETH) is more than just a currency. Ethereum is a decentralized, blockchain-based, open source platform which in the form of smart contracts offers every interested developer, company or private person the opportunity to develop their own DApp or even their own decentralized organization (DAO) and operate.

The cryptocurrency of the Ethereum platform is called Ether. This cryptocurrency serves as a means of payment within intelligent contracts, as a partner token and as a reward for miners. In order to be able to pay for a service from a DApp based on the Ethereum blockchain, users must first buy ether and provide it for this contract. So to speak, ether is the fuel for the entire platform.

Ethereum is also well known for its ERC20 tokens like DAI and BAT. An ERC20 token is an official smart contract utility model on the Ethereum blockchain. The abbreviation ERC20 stands for "Ethereum Request for Comments" and sets a technical standard. All ERC20 tokens are compatible with the Ethereum Blockchain.

No. 2 Litecoin (LTC)

Litecoin (LTC) is Bitcoin's "little brother". Its goal is to make the design of the model faster, easier and more reliable, while at the same time ensuring the highest level of security and anonymity. Litecoin achieves noticeable improvements, especially with regard to the processing speed in the network nodes.

With around 25%, Litecoin has claimed rank number two in my personal portfolio.

Honorable Mentions

I am holding more than just five coins and tokens. Some of them are very exotic like Callisto (CLO), NOW Token (NOW), Trust Wallet Token (TWT), or Atomic Wallet Coin (AWC). Others are better known and well-established like Dash, Stellar Lumens (XLM), and Dogecoin (DOGE).

From all these other currencies that I hodl, at least two are deserving an honorable mention, Kyber (KNC) and Basic Attention Token (BAT).

Kyber (KNC)

Kyber Network’s on-chain liquidity protocol allows decentralized token swaps to be integrated into any application, enabling value exchange to be performed seamlessly between all parties in the ecosystem. Tapping on the protocol, developers can build payment flows and financial apps, including instant token swap services, ERC20 payments, and innovative financial dApps.

I am still building up my portfolio on Kyber. Besides Tezos, Kyber is the currency that I am investing in at the moment.

Basic Attention Token (BAT)

I am a big believer in Brave and BAT and I am quite confident that most of you are also convinced by the benefits of the Brave System.

The Basic Attention Token (BAT) uses the Ethereum Blockchain and it`s  Brave Browser, a specialized web browser that hosts BAT as a native currency with access to a variety of advertising services.

BATs are designed for the exchange between users, advertisers, and publishers. They enable advertising companies to commercialize user attention.

Everyone can simply earn some BAT just by installing and using the Brave Browser. I am not buying BAT but I have started about two months ago to hodl all BAT that I have earned from Brave Ads, Brave Rewards, and published. Now I hodl what I have earned.

No. 1 Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin (BTC), the first cryptocurrency, located on market cap rank #1 is also my number one position in my portfolio with around 30% at the moment.

I am not the only one who hodles BTC. Much of the Bitcoin was not moved a millimeter over the blockchain last year. The HODL mentality is still widespread.

The principle of Hodl is still a widespread strategy in dealing with Bitcoin. For example, over 60 percent of the bitcoins in circulation have not been moved in the past twelve months. This suggests that Bitcoin is particularly in demand among long-term investors.

At the moment, BTC hodlers like me are waiting for the next bitcoin halving. Bitcoin halving could lead to an enormous price increase after a few months, which receives additional input from the holding strategy of many investors.

What I Don`t HODL

I don`t want to say goodbye without letting you know what I don`t hodl. First of all, I don`t hodl stable coins like DAI or TUSD. It makes no sense to hodl stable coins because their value will always remain the same, more or less $1.

Another token that I would never ever hodl is Kicktoken. One of the first posts that I have published on publish0x was about Kicktoken: "The Frozen Airdrop of 888,888 Kicktoken - Great Marketing or a Poisoned Fruit?

The predictions I have made in this post about the spammy and scammy Kicktoken have turned out to be true meanwhile.

I hope I could provide you with some interesting information by revealing my portfolio.
