Sunflower Land Chest Update
In a recent Sunflower Lands update, the rewards for Basic, Rare, and Luxury Chests were changed. This change removed a good portion of seasonal NFTs from the chests. More specifically, the lower the chest rarity, the fewer seasonal NFTs will be available.
In the case of the Basic Chest, the only rewards available are the Architect Ruller NFT (rare), which reduces the Crafting Box time by 25%. Therefore, with this chest, the player has only a 0.47% chance of receiving an NFT.
In the Rare Chest, players can receive rare and epic NFTs. The chance of obtaining an Architect Ruller increases to 1.07%, and the Fruit Tune Box is added to the reward pool, at 0.53%. This brings the player's total rewards to 1.6%.
Finally, in the Luxury Chest, players can receive NFTs of all rarities: rare, epic, and mega. This gives them a 1.16% chance of getting the Architect Ruler, a 0.58% chance of getting the Fruit Tune Box, and a 0.29% chance of getting the Giant Artichoke and Pickaxe Shark. This totals 2.32%.
Chest Key Strategy with Flowers!
With these recent updates removing the best mega-rarity NFTs from lower-rarity chests, it may no longer be as worthwhile to deliver flowers to NPCs whose final reward is the Treasure Key, such as Betty, Pete, Blacksmith, and Jester. However, you can continue to increase your reputation with NPCs like Betty, Pete, and the Blacksmith by completing daily deliveries. If you have space in the Flower Beds, you can place some Red Pansies or Yellow Pansies for Betty, who is the fastest NPC to obtain the Treasure Key.
As most might expect, the best chest with this rewards update ends up being the Luxury Chest, as it contains a chance to receive the season's Mega NFTs. The NPCs who give the Luxury Key are Cornwell and Tywin. The former prefers Red or Blue Balloon Flower, while the latter prefers Celestial Frostbloom. However, there's room for one or two more flowers depending on the number of flower beds, and you can add the Rare Chest NPCs, in the following order of cost-benefit: Finn (Blue Cosmos), Raven (Purple Daffodil), and Bert (Red/White Lotus).
It might be interesting to purchase an extra Flower Bed from the NPC Gunter, exchanging 30 Sunstone for +1 Flower Bed with Beehive. This will produce an additional flower at the same time, allowing you to deliver to another NPC and earn some extra honey.
