Sunflower Land Chapter 13 arrived bringing a series of new features to the web3 farming game. For the first time, during the season there would no longer be a need to unlock several levels to obtain the rarest items from Stella Shop, allowing average players to obtain the MEGA NFTs Corn Silk Hair or Crimstone Clam.
In addition, we had the introduction of a new reward mechanism for the other rewards of the chapter, which would now be present in the Chapter Track. What's the status of Chapter 13?
Players from a few months ago might have thought everything was perfect with these changes, but weren't they too early? The main change was in the Stella Shop, as mentioned. Players believed they could easily get mega items by obtaining 6k tickets.
The answer was exactly as expected in this case; it was quite simple. Currently, more than 1089 Corn Silk Hair have already been minted and are in players' inventories. The issue is that if you look at the player rankings on the chapter track, there are currently over 500 players with more than 5000 tickets.
This means that in the next two weeks, it's very likely that this number of 1089 will continue to rise MUCH higher, making the supply of this item extremely greater than items of the same utility. An example is the Sheaf of Plenty, which gives +2 Barley, similar to Corn Hair which gives +2 Corn, but its supply is only 659, while the supply of Corn Hair will VERY LIKELY be DOUBLE, which could make the price much lower.
Even though the ease of obtaining it has been greatly improved, the supply is so high that it could reach 3x the supply of similar items. Another item, Sickle, which gives +2 Wheat, has a supply of approximately 300, which would make Corn Hair 6x more expensive. According to the law of supply and demand, the greater the supply of an item, the greater the probability of its price decreasing. The problem is that obtaining the 6,000 tickets comes at a cost of around 0.15F each, which would be 960 flowers, a price very close to that of the Sheaf of Plenty, which has a much smaller supply.
Next, we have the Chapter Track. For those interested in completing it fully, it will likely exceed 6,000 tickets, and I believe the Sunflower Land team expected it to be easier to complete because they added more points to players mid-season, and even then it remained very difficult to get close to the end.
The problem with Chapter Track is that for an average player who is after the Mega NFT, after 6k tickets there isn't a great reward waiting for them for the remaining extra tickets they will get. Because they won't get another 6k tickets to get the other mega NFT, and the other NFT option is a monument that most players don't see any value in.
Another option would be to participate in the raffles, but these remaining raffles end up eliminating tickets, and in the last raffles the number of participating tickets increases 2 to 3 times. With that, your chances of getting anything have become even worse.
In the end, it seems that this season has the following result. The Mega NFT may not have been worth the cost in flowers during the season to obtain it. To complete the Chapter Track, players will have to spend a certain amount of flowers and will have extra tickets without much use. This is a lesson for the next chapters...
