Ronin Chain is Open!
With the submission of a permissionless transaction on February 12th, the entire Ronin network has completely changed, allowing more projects to join what is arguably the #1 blockchain network for Web3 gaming after the open. One of the reasons for this is that shortly after the announcement of the open network, several well-known play-to-earn games from other blockchain networks such as Polygon and Ethereum announced that they would be adding support for the Ronin Chain. It's surreal to think that there was no waiting at all; the announcements started coming one after the other right after the official announcement. There are at least 2 games that have made their official posts about Ronin, which we will see shortly.
As a blockchain network that emerged from an nft game, Axie Infinity, the network is made by developers who are players for other players, so they understand more deeply about the issue of games. Furthermore, Ronin is where some of the biggest Web3 games of the moment are located, and there are also large guilds and communities involved in this ecosystem, which is one of the reasons why many games from other networks have already started to announce support for this network. While it may seem a bit too fast, being one of the first to provide this support is vital, because many are already watching.
For blockchain networks competing with Ronin, the situation will get very complicated, because there are currently 40 games, which will attract the attention of many players who are interested in Web3. Among them, we have games with great achievements, such as Pixel Heroes Adventure, which reached Top 1 on the App Store and Google Play Store, Axie Infinity, which onboarded millions of users to Web3, Fableborne, which won the GamesGG award for best mobile game, among others.
Pirate Nation x Ronin
One of the well-known web3 games, Pirate Nation, posted on the project's official X account an announcement that Pirate Nation is going to Ronin and that they will be holding a mint of an exclusive Ronin-themed NFT, which from the image appears to be a pirate ship. This is good for the game, because it attracts the attention of Ronin users and for Ronin it is another game in the portfolio and more exposure for the project's playerbase.
Sunflower Land x Ronin
An announcement was made on Twitter and the game's official discord that Sunflower Land will be adding support for the Ronin Network to attract more players to the game by taking advantage of the openness of the Ronin Network. Furthermore, to celebrate this “launch” on the Ronin Network, they will airdrop 50,000 NFTs to the wallets of active Ronin Network players who already participate in other games, as a way of inviting them to become Sunflower Lands farmers.
The Sunflowerlands development team announced along with this new partnership with Ronin the creation of a new token called $FLOWER, which will be exchanged 1:1 with the current token, $SFL, in April 2025. The reason is that the new token will have support for more blockchains.
