Several initiatives and efforts have emerged in response to the coronavirus. The impact of COVID-19 is undeniable and it is not surprising that governments, institutions, corporations and individuals are trying to best understand the virus and mitigate its effects. One such initiative is the folding @ home project , which seeks to understand the dynamics of COVID-19 proteins in order to find new therapeutic options.

Folding @ home is a distributed computer project for simulating protein dynamics, including the process of protein folding and protein movements associated with various diseases. It brings together scientists-citizens who voluntarily carry out simulations of protein dynamics on their personal computers.

Two blockchain brands -  ColossusXT  and Gath3r decided to join the fight against COVID-19. Both companies formed the Folding @ home team and launched a campaign to support its computational research.

The incentive campaign will last from April to the end of June. Members of both communities are called. By the end of the campaign, the top 3 users with the most points will be awarded. The prize pool in friendly competition is 1,000,000 COLX and 10,000 GTH. The pot will be made available in a ratio of 50%, 35% and 15% for 1  st  , 2  ND  and 3  rd  places, respectively.

To participate, users must download the folding @ home client from this site  and join the  ColossusXT  / Gath3r - 260272 team when installing the application.
