My rig!

How crypto is made…

This is my first post, which I would like to use to say ‘hello’ from Holland 👋

In 2016, I wanted to buy Bitcoin (I won’t elaborate as to why, perhaps you can figure that out anyway).  The procedure was so tedious, I gave up. Well obviously I regretted that. The procedure is a whole lot easier now,  however the continuous KYC procedure is still tiresome. (hint: can someone please make a once made, always accepted crypto passport?). For the typical average person, this still can be too challenging for them.

Now forward years…. I, not that tech savvy girl, yet not a newbie either, wanted to be part of crypto.  I am a 100% believer/enthousiast. Should I just invest in Bitcoin? Is there any other way to participate? And so through a friend of a friend who made miners. I got my first CPU miner and since I now have three rigs 😂. He told me I was the first woman who got one.. and I hope by now we have more of them. Sometimes I think, maybe financially I would have been better off, had I invested it in crypto.😂 It’s not inexpensive.. Setting up the software and connect to a pool was very challenging. I mine ETH -as long as they let me and/or I will mine something else. CPU mining uses less (50%) energy then ASICS miners use and my rigs run on solar panels. Now when I look at these rigs I can say yes, yes I am now part of the blockchain but in very different way I had imagined. I think it’s so awesome people can ‘print’ and validate money. The only regret I have I wished I had started earlier.

I am curious as to what your first experience was with  crypto? Please let me know in the comments?

Why am I here?
My friends and family thought I was crazy. For them crypto still means ‘bad actors’ and ‘criminality’. They don’t understand the tech and they certainly couldn’t wrap their minds, BTC at one point was worth over 60k$. They just gave me the blank stare. However some have wallets now and slowly starting to feel comfortable using it. I hope to be able to explain crypto in an easy way. What it is, how to buy it, how to make a wallet, what are masternodes, and so on and yes also warn for scams.

Apple, back then was brilliant (almost on the brink of going bankrupt), when they made a portable plug and play computer everyone could use. It exploded the computer world. Crypto, can move there too…decentralized.

I am grateful to be part of this awesome community!
