Ep.1 - The BC.Game Casino - The real scam

Among all the other initiatives currently ongoing on the blockchain, also the gambling sector decided to join the revolution and during the last 5 years a few interesting websites popped up and together with those, a few scams with a very nice exterior package. Today we'll talk about the BC.Game scam, one of the most reliant and real dangers in the crypto gambling industry.

The company behind the website is unclear and all the info are hidden from WHOIS, plus the website servers are apparently in high-risk countries (most likely HK). And that's just the beginning. Let me tell you my story and the small adventure I had during the last few weeks to check this reality.

*Funny binary singing*

I was wandering among crypto faucets and this gambling website kept popping up over time, the interface was interesting and there was also a lot of traffic, so I decided to check what was going on and see how the crypto gambling industry was doing. Plus, I like to gamble from time to time and I had already experience with crypto gambling sites with all the related common games (Crash, Keno, etc.).

What I found out once registered was a teenager website with a few games and a lot of holes in it and a fake wheel that gave you 99.9% of the time 10000JB (the fake currency they use for fun without a real value). The games are the same as other websites, but when your bet level increase (over 1$ or more) your lose streak increases dramatically and if you play with well-known and highly-valued crypto, expect to lose much faster than usual.

The experience was a complete disaster, here are summed in key points what I found out:

  • Fake bonus games, wheel and advertising
Nothing of what is advertised is real. Starting from the wheel, passing through "Coco" something and finishing to their "Reward up to 1 BTC". One of their first messages to users was "Free 100ETH" and of course made no sense, something easily noted from people on Bitcointalk. Just a bunch of lies one after the others, unbelievable.

  • Fake bonuses for deposits
They announced a new version of the website on Bitcointalk for a while and launched before the expected time, with endless bugs and missing pieces. Together with new games came also the new coin introduced by them and used for giving a bonus, something not specified in the terms and crazy to obtain. The formula is the following:

Wagered amount * game house edge * 20%

Do you calculus and then find out that makes no sense.

  • Data handling and privacy highly compromised
The conditions written on the website looks like something coming from a copy and paste work of a teenager without legal knowledge and for sure are not clear, nor legal or somewhat real. The terms are approximate, does not include proper definitions and don't mention legal entities involved. So completely useless, most likely your data are sold and your privacy is inexistent, in line with the approach for everything else on the website: make money on the shoulders of unaware users.

  • Hundreds of bugs everywhere on the website
With their last update "3.0" they pumped a lot the possibilities to make money with the crazy house edge's on games but did not improve at all the functionality of the website or games. A good new dress for a bad website that never did its job as an online casino.

  • No ability to manage crypto wallets
The "vault" and wallets are not able to handle properly crypto and often coins disappear and appear after minutes or hours (thanks to your level of complaint of support and threats) and if they do updates don't expect to be able to deposit or move crypto. It's worst and slower than a bank 35 years ago.

  • Complete absence of real support service
Usually, those kinds of scams are well covered with a customer service that tries to hide all the bad sides of the website, or at least tried. But with this one is just all over the place. Absence of replies (In less than 3 days I found 23 players with a full lack of support), prewritten messages without a real meaning, fake images and names, no human interaction. And if something does not work and you complain, it disappears at all for hours or days. Including issues on deposits, tested personally in the last days. Probably there is only a bot replying or a single person handling a lot of fake roles behind the website, making a poor job btw.

  • There is no way to cancel your account
Operating in several countries requires clear rules, but the only ones respecting this are they game providers (probably trusted and real companies) while the website itself does not give instructions. There is no clear procedure, no direct possibility to close your account and no chance to receive and answer from support. Of course.

One small tip?

Don't use the website and avoid the chance to be scammed.

"They" are good at writing on forums, but unable to keep up with the reality and also nothing to do with the real purpose of cryptocurrencies. Just a bunch of new consumerist group of people looking for easy money.
