Happy 615 day, everyone. Here in Nashville, the primary telephone area code is 615. The U.S. way of writing June 15 is 6/15, and over the past several years 615 day has grown in popularity.

It's a big deal on the outstanding Lightning 100 (WRLT) radio, and local major sports teams like the NHL's Nashville Predators have gotten in on the fun as well.

So it was with that in mind that I made some special 615 day NFTs today. Here's a link to a freebie, first person to claim it wins

You can view them on the secondary market, at least while supplies last. There's also an alternate I made with pink/black, but it was intended as a short-run NeftyBlocks blend.

Unfortunately I minted all 15 of them before trying to make the blend, which means I wasn't able to do what I wanted.

So instead I gave them away to people who got in on my giveaway contest early on Twitter.

Follow me there and maybe you can win, too.

The introduction of a new series of elements in R-Planet provided an interesting opportunity today, allowing me to craft a Hammer NFT for less than 3,000,000 aether.

Now 2.92M+ might sound like a lot of aether, and it is. But I'm earning north of one million aether per day based solely on what I have staked in R-Planet.

That is the power of compounding interest in action; this was funded by less than three days of staking. But it wasn't easy to make into a reality.

That's because the usually reliable R-Planet Tools third-party site was unfortunately having trouble tonight, which meant having to manually craft the elements.

And those problems were directly related to some sort of slow-up within R-Planet. So it was a hurry-up-and-wait endeavor, and the clock was ticking.

I can be dynamite on a computer against a deadline, as I did it for years as a TV news producer. But there is a certain level of stress that goes with it.

Meanwhile, I was monitoring the general chat in the R-Planet Discord, where other players were keeping me (and the rest of the room) up-to-speed on how many out of the 600 max NFTs per element had been crafted.

Broom, Broom, Hammer
Ultimately, I landed Hammer NFT #575. Another half-hour and I would've been out of luck.

Not only did I get the NFT, it was an Uncommon. And now I have it staked and earning me 1,095 ae/hr on top of everything else I've been earning from staked NFTs.

And I know that the Hammer FT I also earned is going to come in handy later for other elements yet to be discovered. That's the chain reaction, when you can earn several NFTs and get the fungible tokens as well en route to climbing to a higher-end listing.

I'm off to Las Vegas tomorrow for a five-day trip, living what feels like a real-life sequel to my August 2003 trip there for my 26th birthday weekend. This time it's for my buddy Gary's 45th birthday.

There was also my fling out there with Vegas Girl 2014, but that's more than seven years gone now. And aside from a layover or two, that's the last time I was out there.

Getting old isn't fun, but after ~15 or so months of living in near-hibernation and being 30+ days out from my J&J COVID-19 vaccine, I know it's going to be an eventful trip.

Adventure has a certain way of finding me, especially in Sin City.

If you're into NFTs and you'll be in Vegas this weekend, let me know. Grab a photo with me and we can turn it into an NFT or something like that.

One last thing: I'm encouraged by what Zed Run has planned as a make-good for the massive problems that beset their attempted horse sale last week.

They have a quality product that stands apart from the field, though they're over on the Ethereum side of the divide.

You need a strong concept/game to get me to do anything on that blockchain, as my experiences there haven't been the best.

But while there were problems, the Zed Run developers have since announced a plan to give out a bunch of horses as a sign of good faith. It seems to be primarily targeted for people like me who were newcomers for the Wave 2 sale when things went bonkers.

This is important as they try to grow their userbase. They have the jump on a lot of projects, but that won't last forever.

Wrapped ETH
I'll still spend the money I had allotted in wrapped ether (WETH, not to be confused with WEHT-TV where I broke into the television news biz 24 years ago) in the game if I get a free horse, and hopefully this negative will end up turning into a positive.

The horse giveaway winners are slated to be announced on July 1. Wish me luck.

Maybe I'll see some of y'all in Vegas this weekend. @LouPickney on Twitter will be the easiest way to reach me out there. Let's chat and make some NFT history in the process.
