Got an old Mac running Intel macOS?
Envious of new OS like Monterrey, Ventura and Sonoma?
Checkout OpenCore Legacy Patcher.
You need:
- some patience
- a USB thumb drive (say 16GB)
- a backup if you decide to install onto your computer OR an external drive if you decide to boot from an external drive (as a test, to work out if OpenCore is for you)
What is OpenCore:
It's a tool primarily designed for Mac models that are no longer officially supported by macOS updates. It allows users to install and run newer versions of macOS on older, unsupported Mac hardware.
The tool works by patching the macOS installer and system files to make them compatible with the older Mac models. Using such tools may involve some risks, and compatibility may vary depending on the specific hardware and macOS version BUT if you have an older computer the benefits outweigh the risks IMHO.

Thanks and good luck in your endeavors!
