Old buckethead Joe Biden nominated his old buckethead friend Janet Yellen to run American finance, and the first thing this bitch does is talk about bankrupting the American public. This old piece of shit came out against bitcoin, calling it a haven for illegal activity.
We all know that the US dollar is the #1 tool for criminals around the world, while criminal activity in crypto is actually decreasing. The crypto community is also uniquely positioned to regulate itself when bad things happen. Government stooges and regulators couldn't have done anything about the last few hacks, but devs quickly made things right in more than one very recent crisis.
It is essential for us to maintain our financial sovereignty as a group when dealing with these old idiots. Most importantly, do not allow them to take your wealth through overbearing regulation. There's also the argument of Russia and China pulling ahead of the US if the US "cracks down" on crypto, but that will honestly fall on deaf ears. These are government types. They are the antithesis of innovation. They've never had to worry about efficiency or creating real value.
Protect your wealth and diversify your investment portfolio outside of the United States. International portfolios are not just for "rich" people. The world is more open than ever, with plenty of emerging markets to invest in for exponential gains. We no longer have to accept the lie that 0.1% is a good rate for a savings rate or that 8% per year is acceptable for a risk-heavy securities portfolio. Try 8X. Then we can talk.
More than anything, understand there's no negotiating with people like Janet Yellen. She thinks she knows everything and is set in her ways. She will use the false narrative of crime to take your wealth in crypto, so it behooves you to take steps to protect it now. I know the majority of you aren't man enough to fight directly, so at least hold your wealth sovereign so the government can't have it.
In technical market news, the market took a small dip on the news of Yellen's blathering comments, but quickly turned around. Crypto doesn't give a fuck.
