Jake Newman Enterprises $JNE

Breakdown of the Most Interesting Token Project You've Never Heard Of

By Hamminy | cryptoinvesting | 7 Feb 2024

$JNE, or Jake Newman Enterprises, has to be the most interesting token project I'd never heard of until a chance meeting in Twitter Spaces with the proprietor. Followed his dumpy looking profile down the rabbit hole and came to a corner of crypto that I didn't know existed, but I'm quite happy does. The story:

ℹ️ Jake Newman came into ownership of the token through an "accidental hostile takeover," as described in the satirical JNE whitepaper
ℹ️ The token was created as a meme but came into a more serious interpretation as the community took shape
ℹ️ $JNE has been uponly since late August of last year

Why is $JNE Interesting?

I'm sure there are some other tokens, somewhere, that are bringing together a legitimate, trustworthy community and are also completely under the KOL radar. I don't suppose KOLs really have an angle, nor are they needed to market $JNE to the right people. Definitely a plus for the project.

▶️ Although Jake Newman owns 98% of the supply, he seems more interested in leveling the playing field fighting for lost Twitter accounts than in dumping on his audience for a few quick bucks.

▶️▶️ The Twitter advocacy is something that seriously interested me, as I'm not a fan of Elon's monopoly over web3. As I've said before, it doesn't matter how dEcEnTrAlIzEd a project is if it requires a Twitter account to access, and the majority of these lame faggy ass web3 projects do just that. Twitter is also the metric by which a lot of these rich idiot web3 founders with money give out jobs. These goofy web3 Spaces Hosts won't let you speak unless your Twitter account has a certain number of followers. So at least there's someone there to help you out if you lose a Twitter account that you've put time into so you can actually interact with web3.

▶️▶️▶️ The $JNE Telegram meetups are what really hooked me. The community seems more like a neighborhood of friends at a barbecue than a digital meetup. The talk can be crass, as the community seems to be full of middle aged good ol' boy Jersey types, but these are bigots with hearts of gold. Think Archie Bunker or Andrew Dice Clay. (Or if you're from Asia, your maternal great-grandfather who talks shit about your Western sig-o and wonders why you can't marry somebody from the old country.)

Is $JNE a Good Investment?

I don't know.

I do know it's a cool enough project that I put aside my main talking point of crypto gaming just to do a write up. There are very few projects in crypto that I can say are bringing together honest people at any scale, but that's why I'm quite excited about $JNE. The people here seem honest, the proprietor is doing good work in the community against centralized overlords, and the token chart reflects an integrity I haven't seen anywhere else in this space.

Don't expect $JNE to make you rich even though it might. If you're anything like me, you toss $JNE a couple of bucks because it's good for the soul. You follow that up with actual participation in the community instead of free riding off of the people with the real passion (I do it too, goddammit I want to be rich for no work also). But when you see something good, dammit, you don't be the first jackoff to fuck it up. Jake Newman Enterprises, so far, is what crypto is supposed to be about. Let's all help preserve that kind of project as long as possible.
