We are at the very beginning of the Bitcoin era and, as all cryptoenthusiasts, we strongly believe that crypto mass adoption is just behind the corner and soon crypto coins will be at the basis of world economy. The coins era that is in the twilight of its days in this early part of 21st century has a long story, that goes back to the first half of the first millenium B.C. From the Middle Est the use of coins spreaded into the rest of the world promoting commerce and favoring the progress of humanity. In each continent, in each country and, in some places like Italy, also in each city the history of currency is very peculiar, a huge variety of little metal disks were designed and manufactured, with increasing ability, to testify the evolution of economy, politics, social life and also art.
Before launching ourselves into the crypto universe we felt important and necessary to watch behind our shoulders and discover the history of older coins. We live in a little region of Northern Italy called Insubria, from the name of an ancient Gallic population that lived here before the Roman conquest of Northern Italy, located across Lombardy, Piemonte and Southern Switzerland. It is a relatively small area, rich of lakes and mountains and very close to Milan. Across the centuries the coins that circulated in Insubria told the story of its people, its culture, its many languages and its religion providing a huge amount of information that historians still struggle to decipher.

Each week we will narrate a different chapter of this fascinating story, focusing on a different coin. To tell you the truth we need to distract ourselves from the terrible epidemic crisis that we are living in Lombardy, but we also need to get ready for the new crypto times, since to understand where we are going first we need to know where we came from.
