There are two things I'm going to write about in this post: The Ethereum 2.0 Merge and the Sweatcoin/Sweat Economy Token (SWEAT) Minting event, since I don't have much to write about either.

The Ethereum (ETH) merge seems to have been carried out successfully and the ship is sailing on. To be honest, I don't particularly care, seeing as it doesn't do anything to resolve issues with network congestion and consequent high gas fees. I'm quite happy to wait until the Shanghai update before I move into my wallet such ETH and AMPL as I have earned here on Pub0x. It might well take that long for me to reach the minimum amount that I can withdraw, anyway. I'll probably have to upgrade my wallet software, which is a bit inconvenient, but that's how it goes with technology. Besides, I have a new job to focus on securing, anyway, so I'll definitely be doing less writing here.
The Sweat Economy Token (SWEAT) Minting Event
At the time of writing, the SweatCoin/SWEAT changeover minting event occurred a couple of days ago (13 September 2022). For some reason, I ended up with ~496 SWEAT reserved in my SWEAT wallet, even though the SweatCoin app showed ~502 SWC. From what I understand, there's supposed to be a 1:1 correlation between SWC and SWEAT. Indeed, the wallet app shows that one thousand (1 000) steps will generate/mint one (1) SWEAT, the same as for SWC. As to what happened to those missing six (6) SWEAT, I don't know. I'm just hoping that the counter and wallet apps will sync up at some point and they'll make their way into my wallet.
Something that does annoy me, however, is the fact that the 496 reserved SWEAT didn't come through to me all at once on the day of the changeover event. Instead, they'll be released over a period of twenty-four (24) months! Judging by the way other cryptocurrencies go, their value will likely drop over that time. What a con that is! Currently, I have ~50 SWEAT in my wallet, which I have put into a one-year jar (analogous to staking it) to earn 12% (~6 SWEAT) over that period. You keep your sweat in a jar? Eww, gross! How weird! Most people use a towel. To misquote Monkey Dust:
Clive's Wife: What were you really doing, Clive?
Clive Pringle: Trying to fill a bathtub with sweat ... and that, darling, is what really happened!
