The last few days to a week have been a bit 50/50, TBH. On the one hand, I'm a bit glum about coming regulations in ZAF that are going to make it even more difficult for me to remain in the cryptosphere unless I just HODL my crypto until I can move to another country. Also, it's been raining all week (which also means no mains electricity for periods of up to 24 hours a pop) and I haven't had a day to do laundry, so have run out of clothes to wear, other than work clothes. I'll probably end up doing laundry in my pajamas, if Sunday/Monday turns out to not be conducive. I guess I could take stuff to the laundromat, but money ...
On the other hand, Udemy had a sale yesterday, so I picked up a course that was 80% off. (Just as well, because the speaker's voice is annoying and he pauses in odd places). If I finish reading the transcript without the progress indicator advancing to the end and getting a certificate, I'll apply for a refund, hopefully pick up something else on sale next time there is one. I guess I just don't like audio-/video-based lectures/learning courses. They don't suit my learning style, which is mainly text-based.
Help, help, I'm being repressed!
Since all exchanges operating in my home country have to register with a governmental financial regulator by November, I'm going to stop using them. I can only imagine that harsher/stricter legislation will follow, since that's generally how things go. I don't see the point/sense of linking any personally-identifying account, such as my bank account or PayPal, to a DEX (even if I exchange PIVX, XMR or ZEC); it defeats the purpose of using one as far as I'm concerned.
I don't even know how to go about voicing dissent to a piece of legislation, particularly anonymously (other than putting a piece of paper in a complaints/compliments/suggestions box in a government Department of Finance office) or if there's even still time to do so. It would probably have as much effect as starting a petition on Change.org (id est, practically none).
On that unfortunate note and turn of events, I think it's best that I withdraw what crypto I can from Pub0x (unfortunately not my AMPL, since I have insufficient balance for that, by ~$0.04), seeing as it can take up to two weeks to receive it and I'll need it by the 25th. After that, I'll lie low for the foreseeable future and HODL what I can't exchange.
The good ship crypto/DeFi will sail on and it may well conquer TradFi and the status quo once and for all at some point in the distant future, but I'm not going to be part of it (at least for a while, if ever); my fight against Capitalism and fiat is lost. As much as I hate the idea and know the disadvantages, it's time for me to go back to Capitalism and dealing in fiat. My journey through the cryptosphere has certainly been interesting and mostly enjoyable (although often quite tough), but I honestly don't see that I can go any further for the time being, not without a radical and major change in my circumstances. That's a long-term goal, at least five to ten years.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
Thank you to all of you whom have read my posts, followed and tipped. You've helped keep me afloat and struggling on through the years, despite the odds.
For what is most likely the last time here (and elsewhere where crypto is to be earned, exchanged or made),
Snark out!
