Cryptocurrency mining caused a fire in Baklashi village, Irkutsk region, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region reported. A one-story apartment building burned down, but the spread of the fire to the neighbors was prevented.

A message about a fire in a private house was received at the 101 phone number on the night of March 20. Two tanker trucks, nine firefighters and local volunteers were sent to fight the fire.

When the first rescuers arrived at the scene, the house was already completely engulfed in fire, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. By this time, the roof and ceiling had already collapsed.

It is reported that 80 square meters burned down. m from the building area, but firefighters managed to save a neighboring house from the fire.

Two years ago, a man died in the Irkutsk region due to a fire caused by the ignition of mining devices. The man did not have time to get out of the burning bathhouse, on the veranda of which the equipment for mining cryptocurrency was set on fire.
