ZKcandy Raises $4M in Funding Round
The Ethereum-based gaming network ZKcandy has managed to raise another $4 million from investors as part of their latest round of funding. Investors included Wemix Pte, Animoca Ventures, Spartan Group, and Perlone Capital. The news was announced on Monday that the gaming network operated by iCandy had closed the $4 million private funding round.
It was revealed by the company that they plan to set these funds aside as part of their mainnet launch, planned for the first half of 2025. They released a Medium blog post in which ZKcandy confirmed that angel investors and early contributors, including Stacks, Analog, Mittaria, and Xangle, also participated in the funding. It followed an open testnet phase which managed to bring in 2.4 million wallets in just two weeks.
The company also noted that the latest investment will help to support their overall goal of expanding Web3 gaming and increasing accessibility to a broader audience. The CEO of ZKandy, Lau Kin Wai, noted that the team had been working non stop to bring in top games and large scale IPs which would allow users to experience smooth and secure gameplay. He stated that the company would continue on their quest to build towards that vision.
ZKandy is the only Layer 2 chain in Web3 gaming with ties to major gaming studios. They rely on their team’s experience in gaming product development and ZKandy have said they will accelerate their market launch of high-quality gaming titles. The platform now counts more than 25 games in development, including a Tier-1 Hollywood IP-based offering.
ZKcandy also plan to create the first Telegram-based EVM gaming ecosystem and collaborate with key intellectual property holders to boost engagement. They will aim to integrate AI agents for enhanced gameplay, while also expanding their network of partners. The overall aim is to attract AAA game developers while strengthening their place in the Web3 gaming space.
