Where Have I Been? And What Have I Missed?

Good day everyone,

I hope you are all having a good day, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. Today I will be looking at what has been happening over the last year, why I took a break from Publish0x, and how happy I am to be back.

The Last Year

Over the last year I have been away from Publish0x, but not because my love of crypto has diminished. Quite the opposite. I undertook a university course and decided my efforts were best placed focusing on that. During that time I maintained my account here, pooped back when I could, and continued to read and tip my favourite authors. Now I can delightedly say I will be back posting again as and when I can.

What happened while I was away?

What a 12 months it has been. Bitcoin reached its new ATH in October 2026 at $126,000.
Sadly the good times did not last long after Trump's tariff's on Chinese imports led to a massive liquidation in crypto, seeing Bitcoin come crashing back down.

It was not all bad, as Ethereum saw Fusaka go live on December 3, 2025, aimed at lowering Layer-2 costs and improved scalability. Lets hope their next major update, Glamsterdam, will help to solve Layer-1 scaling.

How Bitcoin, Ethereum, and all the others suffered throughout the 2026 bear market! With Bitcoin hitting lows of $56,684 on July 1 while Ethereum sat at $1,508.

ETF's did not escape the lows either, with massive outflows throughout 2026. It is estimated that around $3.3 billion were removed, with Citigroup lowering their Bitcoin target from $112,000 to just $82,000.

The sentiment changed, and the optimism from the ATH in 2025 has certainly been replaced by falling prices, corporate concerns, and talk of a crypto winter. The dreaded 'Bitcoin will go to $0!'

It is not all gloom and doom, with the SEC clarifying a taxonomy covering digital commodities, collectibles, digital tools, stablecoins, and digital securities in March of 2026. Congress are still working on the CLARITY Act, and the CTCF have put forward a new federal framework for consideration.

Personally, I think the shift in attitude from 'what will 10x' towards a mentality of 'what parts of tradFi can move on-chain?' is potentially the most interesting change. Major players such as Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citi and Deutsche Bank all have their own plans to launch a dollar stablecoin, and the Euro and other G7 currency stablecoins are being contemplated.

Sadly hacks have never, and will never, be far away from crypto. The latest major hack, involving Bitget, shows how the more things change, the more things stay the same.

It is not all doom and gloom, as Bitcoin is making its recovery. A 40% gain in Q3 of 2026, currently trading at $85,689 is a push in the right direction. Ethereum is also showing massive gain, currently priced at $2,704.

So where do we go from here? In the ever changing world of crypto we can really never know what direction we are headed. However, we can be certain that the trials and tribulations of crypto will endure. It's good to be back and hopefully there are a lot more exciting stories ahead.

Have a great day.

Peace. CryptoGod-1.
